On June 7th, Epic Games released their latest update of Fortnite. This new season’s theme is based on popular superheroes.

This update features hero ranks. Each player starts with rank C, and as they progress, they have the potential to reach the highest hero rank, S+. To rank up your hero faster, you can eliminate enemies, survive the storm phases, take a sprite to a shrine, and eliminate henchmen, etc.

Each rank up will a player will gain 100 effective health along with new loot.

New POI’s

The super edition of the battle royale map includes new POI’s, each one paired with there own villain to defeat.

Supernova Academy (was Magic Mosses)

• Players are able to buy hero items at the Academy Tech Lab

Utopia City (was Seaport City)

Demon’s Domain (was Masked Meadows)

New Weapons

Brand new weapons have been released to accompany the new heroes.

Krypto Treat

• Krypto, Superman’s dog, will dive bomb to retrieve it when thrown, dealing serious damage to anyone or anything nearby.

Robin’s Grapnel Gun

• Has a greater reach than original grapplers, helps players move around quicker.

Spire Rifle

• New LMG with more ammo that does increased damage to structures.

Hyperburst Pistol

• unloads rapid three-round bursts

Deadeye DMR

• High precision for far range.

Rank S Weapons

Unstable Yoink Shotgun

•  Whoever it hits with the first shot from a full clip, they’ll be grabbed towards you

Unstable Voltage Burst Pistol

•  The first and final shots from each clip produce a shockwave effect at the impact point.

Unstable Frostfire Shotgun

• On a successfully landed shot, it’ll cycle between giving you a Pepper effect or the target a slowdown effect.

New Boons

Duration of each boon will increase your hero rank rises.

Storm Caller Boon

• Replenishes Shield while in the Storm. Gives Storm Forecast at Rank S.

Speed Healer Boon

• Sprint while using healing items and gain Slap afterwards. Gain Slap immediately when using a healing item at Rank S.

Combat Acrobat Boon

• Parkour (mantling, etc.) partially reloads your equipped weapon. Reloads all your weapons at Rank S.

Heightened Senses Boon

• Players who attack you are marked. Its cool-down is lowered at Rank S.

New Sprites

The water and air sprites have been replaced with the dash sprite and the superman sprite. The dash sprite, grants three dashes to anyone in it’s range. The superman sprite is equipped with a laser beam gaze, dealing damage to anything in front of it.

Battle Pass

Battle passes are available in the shop, with both a free and premium version. The premium version can be purchased for 1,000 V-Bucks as well as through Fortnite Crew.
