As per dataminers, the mythical pokemon Meltan is coming to Pokemon GO in its Dynamax form for the first time.
On 9th October 2026, @thepokemodgroup took to their official X to share that Dynamax forms of Meltan, Melmetal, and Regidrago have been added.
Even though no release date has been shared by the dataminers, the community is certainly excited for the arrival of the Steel-type pokemon in its Dynamax form.
On 22nd September, 2018, Meltan was first introduced in Pokemon GO in a very creative way. Right after the end of the Chikorita Community Day, hordes of unnamed pokemon flooded the in-game map. When trainers tried to catch this pokemon, it turned into a Ditto.
Three days later, the Pokemon Company officially revealed Meltan. Players only had to wait for a month to eventually catch the mythical pokemon.
On 5th February 2019, shiny Meltan was released in the game for the first time. Trainers were required to open mystery boxes to try their luck in getting the shiny variant.
Until now, trainers could only catch Meltan through mystery boxes and Let’s Go Meltan research. The max battles would certainly open a new way for trainers to catch the mythical pokemon and farm enough candies to max out a Melmetal.
Dynamax Meltan in Pokemon GO: What to Expect
As of now, the debut date of Dynamax Meltan hasn’t been leaked by the pokeminers.
Pokemon GO Wild Area events generally focus on Max Battles & Gigantamax/Dynamax. Being a Steel-type pokemon, the debut of Dynamax Meltan makes sense during the in-person or global Wild Area 2026 event.
However, this year’s Wild Area already has a lot of features, such as the debut of Gigantamax Duraludon, Dynamax Palkia, and Dynamax Dialga. Therefore, the debut of Dynamax Meltan in the same event seems unlikely.
With that being said, nothing is certain until Pokemon GO’s official post. Keep an eye out for Scopely’s official announcement.
Last Word on Dynamax Meltan in Pokemon GO
The arrival of Meltan in its Dynamax form is certainly a massive win. For a long time, collecting enough resources to evolve and max out a Melmetal has been a tall task. With Max Battles, players will be able to collect a lot of Meltan candies.
As of now, we don’t know whether the shiny version will be available through Max Battles. However, given that the mythical pokemon already has its shiny form released in the game, it is highly likely that if trainers are lucky, they can encounter a shiny Meltan through Max Battles.
