The sequel to Lies of P may have had its name revealed ahead of its official announcement. Neowiz has filed a trademark for Wonders of O in the European Union, and both the chosen name and the categories covered by the filing strengthen the possibility that it is related to the franchise’s next game.

What Does This Neowiz Classification Mean?

The application was filed by the company on September 10 with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and is still under examination. The trademark covers Classes 9 and 41 and includes products and services directly related to video games, such as gaming software, interactive programs, computer games, and online entertainment services. The description shares several similarities with trademarks previously filed by Neowiz for its gaming properties.

The connection to Lies of P comes primarily from the name Wonders of O and the ending of the first game. After the credits, Giangio is revealed to be Paracelsus and is shown aboard a train discussing the events in Krat. During the scene, he mentions searching for another potential “key” and directly references Dorothy, who appears shortly afterward walking across the city’s rooftops in her iconic red shoes.

Since then, the reference to The Wizard of Oz has been interpreted as an indication of where the franchise could go after reimagining the story of Pinocchio in the first game. The new trademark strengthens that possibility, as the “O” could refer to Oz, while “Wonders” evokes the title of L. Frank Baum’s original book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. So far, however, Neowiz has not confirmed that Wonders of O is actually the title of the sequel.

What has already been confirmed is that a new game in the franchise is in development. In May, Neowiz revealed in its financial results that the sequel had entered full production after completing its pre-production phase. More recently, director Choi Ji-won once again mentioned the project, saying that the team is focused on delivering an experience that is both fun and emotionally impactful.

Development is also taking place following changes to the team behind Lies of P. Round8 now operates as NOUGH Studio, retaining staff and the development philosophy associated with the original game. Neowiz had previously confirmed that it intends to continue investing in the IP as a long-term franchise.

Last Word on Wonders of O

The trademark does not officially confirm the sequel’s name, but its connection to Lies of P is consistent with clues Neowiz itself has been leaving since 2023. Dorothy did not appear merely as a hidden reference in the first game: her introduction came specifically during the scene used to indicate that the story would continue beyond the events of Krat.

If Wonders of O really is the sequel, the name would also suggest that Neowiz intends to maintain the naming structure established by Lies of P, using a letter to identify the classic work reimagined by each game. For now, the trademark is the most concrete clue regarding the identity of the new project, while details such as its protagonist, setting, platforms, and release window remain unconfirmed.
