Thebes map was released during Marvel Rivals Season 9, two weeks before the mid-season update, on July 24, 2026. It’s a new convoy map, filled with Egyptian architecture, combined with alien celestial technology. There are mainly two parts to the new map: one focuses on the Egyptian theme, while the rest of the map takes players inside the pyramid, which looks technologically advanced, like the Arakko map. This new addition offers the chance to bring a fresh team composition to the table and win using some interesting plays.
Best Team For Thebes Map in Marvel Rivals
Full Dive Team
While the overall meta of the game tends to stick to heavy poke, certain maps give an advantage to dive players. Thebes in Marvel Rivals is one of those maps. The map offers plenty of places to stalk from and a new mechanic that “dispenses” players who fall in certain places, allowing them to pick up a health pack and get back into the fight quickly, often offering an element of surprise.
While 2-2-2 is considered an ideal team composition format in the community with two Vanguards, two Duelists, and two Strategists, Thebes can work with one Vanguard, three Duelists, and two Strategists as well if your team is leaning towards a full dive comp. The suggested team for this composition would be as follows:
- Vanguard – Venom / Captain America / Deadpool (Vanguard)
- Duelists – Magik / Spider-Man / Daredevil / Black Panther / Star Lord / Psylocke / Black Cat
- Strategists – Jeff the Land Shark / Rocket Raccoon / Adam Warlock / Invisible Woman
Bunker Team
Although some parts of the map offer advantage to divers, the ins and outs can be rather predictable when you have played enough on Thebes. For that matter, and to counter dive, players can also run a full “bunker” team filled with heroes who offer crowd control and area denial, experts in holding an area.
For this, we will stick to the traditional 2-2-2 team composition format and will have two Vanguards, two Duelists, and two Strategists to control the battlefield with full effect. The suggested team for this composition would be as follows:
- Vanguards – Peni Parker / Groot / The Thing / Devil Dinosaur
- Duelists – Winter Soldier / Namor / Mister Fantastic / Storm / Scarlet Witch
- Strategists – Invisible Woman / White Fox / Gambit / Cloak & Dagger
