The Game Awards 2023 brought a surprise for fans in the form of Marvel’s Blade. The video game was teased through a small cinematic teaser, showing Eric Brooks waiting for a barber to groom him inside a shop with its shutter down. Eric makes a fun jab at the barber who was afraid of him, saying he won’t bite him, which is ironic considering he is half vampire. The lights went out, and a red glow dominated the shop. Blade put his fangs on display and got ready to slay the vamps as always.

This announcement was well-received in both the Marvel and gaming communities. With Arkane Lyon on the helm, everything seemed promising. This is the studio behind the popular Deathloop and the Dishonored series. With other games in their portfolio, fans were happy to finally be receiving a game around their favorite dhampir. Unfortunately, the game appeared canceled. But now, there’s finally a ray of hope!
Marvel’s Blade Developer Reassures Fans
After the most recent 2025 TGA event, Marvel’s Blade’s announcement completed two years! During this time period, fans received nothing major from Arkane Lyon. Reports pointed towards internal conflicts – foreshadowing signs of a project that is about to be canceled.
