The South Korean company has confirmed via a company presentation about their financial results, that Stellar Blade will be receiving a sequel title in the future.

Shift Up’s franchises of both Nikke and Stellar Blade are expected to expand before the year 2027. This includes the release of their 2024 success releasing on PC in early June.
The slide briefly mentions another franchise in development aptly titled ‘Project Witches’. Little is known about this venture, however last year some minor details had been publicized about Project Witches. Detailing that it will be “an AAA action RPG” that is “cross-platform across mobile, PC and console” and it will be a “subculture genre game”.
What could the sequel bring?
Stellar Blade featured a semi-open work with diverse biomes, ranging from desolate wastelands to futuristic ruins. With a sequel in mind they would be able to fully embrace an open-world design offering larger environments and greater exploration.
One of the greatest strengths of the original title was the combat, blending precise melee attacks with gaudy combos. A new entry to the franchise could introduce new weapons for EVE to utilize. This could expand to new abilities or even cooperative multiplayer modes. Deeper customization into EVE’s skill tree would also be a welcomed addition to suit different playstyles.
Leveraging the hardware of the Playstation 5 Pro, a sequel would enhance the already jaw-dropping visuals and detailed character models. Upgraded environmental fidelity for a smoother experience would elevate the impressiveness of the title.
Challenges Ahead
While the prospect of a sequel is exciting, Shift Up will face challenges of meeting higher expectations. Steller Blade (2024) wasn’t a perfect game, with many criticizing it’s linear missions and pacing issues. The South Korean team would need to take this feedback onboard whilst developing and enhancing systems to create a truly great experience for diehard fans and newcomers alike.
