Lightyear Frontier Rare Crops Walkthrough
While Diane can help you with animals, Ulf specialises in crops so if you want to grow rare crops you’ll need to make contact with him by finding a Copper ore piece somewhere on the map and waiting a day to hear from him.
You’ll then have to build an Outpost construct or Lunar Lander and assign it to him if you want to kickstart his side of the content.
Ulf’s knowledge allows you to mutate crops by making a Seed Splicer. You have to try and make one of each mutation for Ulf to satisfy him but any extras can be sold or used for your own purposes.
These are the rare crops to focus on and how to grow them:
- Mutated Caroot
- Mutated Chromaize
- Mutated Coilvine
- Mutated Honeybottle
- Mutated Lumbloom
- Mutated Rabbage
- Mutated Polyberry
Not every spliced seed will yield a mutation so don’t just plant one, try to plant at least 5 to make sure you get a rare variant.
