Palia Spotted Mantis Guide

This Palia Spotted Mantis guide will explain where to catch one, when to try and catch one, and any other details I find important to this task. Bug catching, especially for rare ones like this can be tedious so here’s hoping this won’t be too RNG heavy for you all. Palia released on Steam for FREE and has been a massive hit with fans of the farming and life sim genre.

Palia Spotted Mantis Tips

Unlike a lot of rare bugs or fish, there is no time cap on when you can find one of these. You can search for one at any time of the day which is a great help due to their occasionally low spawning rates.

The Spotted Mantis is located exclusively around the Dragon Shrine in Kilima Valley. If you go past the shrine towards the Bahari gate and cross a little stream there is a chance you will find one as they are slightly more likely to spawn in here than around the Drago Shrine where the crickets are taking up spots.

If you can’t find one using the method above, then you can try scaring off crickets and cause the game to spawn some new bugs, meaning there’s a bigger chance it’ll give you a Spotted Mantis around the Dragon Shrine.

If you use both of these methods you should be able to get a Spotted Mantis before long, be sure to keep one as it is needed in the Old Friends quest.
