FM24 Best Tactics to Use in Lower Leagues
Formation
With a lot of teams in this year’s edition prioritising attacking football I prefer to use a 3-4-3 which the game calls a 5-2-3. It’s a defensive formation on paper but the deeper midfielders and back 5 allows you to keep the opposition at bay a lot better than a back 4.
Mentality
I have gone with Direct Counter Attack but a Fluid Counter Attack should be able to work as well. The formation is set up to absorb pressure and launch a counter with the front 3.

Does it Work
Having used this tactic in the lower leagues of France I can say it proves quite successful. I’ve escaped relegation after taking over a team in October and with a few smart signings I was top of the table by the next season.
Despite looking too defensive on paper this tactic has proven to be quite useful at scoring goals and controlling games by suffocating the opponents and using the good dribblers to open space in the opposition back line.
While not exactly the lower leagues I have also tried this tactic in Belgium with RSC Anderlecht where it has taken me to the top of the table
