Cities Skylines 2 High Rent Problem

High Rent warnings have been hitting some players quite frequently, sometimes with no understanding of what’s causing it. The cause is usually one of a number of factors, for some it’s just high land value pricing them out of the area.

Other times it is due to the makeup of the people living in houses, be they ones with dependents, senior citizens, or ones unable to make rent due to your taxes.

Solutions

There’s a few things you can do to even out the land value, money, rent formula. You can lower local land value by moving services out of the area, you can decrease unemployment so the housed people have more money, you can build a variety of houses and business as these will have different rental prices.

Low-density residential units tend to have lower rents than homes so putting some of those in the area for lower income folks could help with the high rent warnings.

The last piece of advice I can give is to lower taxes on businesses or lower income people. This will free up more money for them to pay rent.
