Best Teams to Rebuild in NBA 2K24’s Modern Era
San Antonio Spurs
Out of all the teams in the league, this is the most obvious rebuild to take on. The Spurs won the lottery and drafted generational prospect Victor Wembanyama who walks in with an 84 overall. Wembanyama is a game-changer and will presumably become a monster as the game progresses so your job will be to build a team around this monstrous prospect.
Charlotte Hornets
The Hornets were pretty poor last year, which is why they ended up with one of the top picks in the draft. All is not lost for the Hornets, as they do have some strong young talents like Lamelo Ball and the recently drafted Brandon Miller to build around.
The job in Charlotte is to decide what you’re going to do with Ball and either build a winning team around him or blow it all up and build around Miller and future draft picks.
Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks don’t immediately scream rebuild but they tend to underperform despite having Trae Young on hand. There’s an interesting wrinkle here as you can basically go a few different ways with the Hawks. Make small tweaks to maximise what’s already there to win with Young, Capela and co.
On the other hand, you can get a lot of draft capital and young players in exchange for some of your star names to start over and tank for picks. Which method you choose is your own but both should be fun.
Houston Rockets
The Rockets have been bad, very bad. They missed out on getting Wembanyama in the most recent draft but added to their collection of young talent. What this roster needs is a patient presence to nurture talents like Jalen Green, Aperen Sengun, Jabari Smith Jr., and Amen Thompson among others.
The Rockets have already blown it up so you don’t have to restart the rebuild, instead you just join partway through and attempt to take them to the promised land.
