Bargain Corner: Snowboarding The Next Phase

Published on:

Bargain Corner returns and once again we head to the Nintendo Switch for Session Games Inc. 2019 release Snowboarding The Next Phase.  At the low, low price of just 1.99 Euro, this may be the best game we’ve picked up during our bargain corner series, although award-winning Fractured Minds will likely still hold the top spot.

Gameplay

As the title may suggest this is a snowboarding game.  While hardcore snowboarding fans may not enjoy this game it is a fun pick-up for anyone else.  Pulling off tricks to get high scores and meet your targets is a fun experience, while the game may be a tad easy once you get the hand of it the satisfaction of pulling off tricks to higher and higher scores never goes away.

The controls themselves aren’t perfect as at times the slightest nudge of the joycon can send your character spiraling but once you get the hang of the mechanics you’ll be pulling off insane tricks with ease.

The leveling up system keeps things intriguing as new levels and new equipment give you the chance to earn higher and higher scores out there on the slopes.

Is It Playable

You bet it is! Loose controls aside this game has no issues whatsoever.  The graphics, while nothing special, stay consistent.  The controls, while loose, are nothing offputting, and given how relaxed the game is the controls aren’t going to make or break your playthrough

Will We Play It Again

YES!  With 68 tracks to choose from (according to Nintendo that is) and 9 different missions to complete on each track, this is a game that will keep us coming back.  The sense of satisfaction you get from a high-scoring trick just can’t be beaten and the ease with which those can be pulled of is very appealing to this writer.  For such a low price you could do much worse than picking up Snowboarding The Next Phase
