EA Announces Apex Legends Vs Street Fighter Collaboration Event

Peter Glagowski September 15, 2026

The next season ofĀ Apex Legends has a big crossover event planned for fans. Likely made to coincide with the release of theĀ Street Fighter film next month, EA’s popular battle royale FPS will be crossing over with Capcom’s venerable fighting game series in a rather extensive collaboration called “Apex Legends Vs Street Fighter.”Ā Starting on September 22, 2026, at 10 am PT/1 pm ET, the likes of Ryu, Chun-Li, Akuma, and Cammy will be crashing into the Outlands in a range of unlockable skins for characters and weapons.

Which Characters/Skins Will Be Available?

EA has revealed that eight different “Iconic” skins will be available for players to buy from the Rewards Shop. A separate “Epic” skin will also be available. These include:

  • Sparrow as Ryu (Iconic)
  • Alter as Chun-Li (Iconic)
  • Bangalore as Elena (Iconic)
  • Mirage as Luke (Iconic)
  • Gibraltar as Akuma (Iconic)
  • Wattson as Cammy (Iconic)
  • Caustic as Blanka (Iconic)
  • Pathfinder as Dhalsim (Iconic)
  • Lifeline as Li-Fin (Epic)

Themed weapon skins will be available for the R-99, EVA-8, Flatline, Volt, Scout, Mozambique, Sentinel, and Peacekeeper, though specifics have not been revealed. Players will have the chance to unlock two new skydive emotes, one of which is the classic Tatsumaki move, alongside Holosprays, stickers (which includes the entirety of Street Fighter 6’s main roster), badges, trackers, and frames. In a wonderful touch, there is even a new Hadouken Universal Melee cosmetic that enables players to perform Street Fighter’s most iconic move during the middle of matches.

What Other Changes Are Coming?

The Olympus map, introduced in season seven, is getting a Street Fighter facelift for this new season. Decked out in brighter colors, matching graffiti, and Blanka-chan balloons, players will be able to compete in an arena designed like the Capcom Pro Tour event. Eight silver statutes of the featured character skins will be scattered around the map and new Punch Trucks will act as POIs for players to beat up. You’ll earn Fight Gauge tokens from these, which plays into a new mechanic being introduced for this event.

Once you’ve filled you Fight Gauge up, you can activate “Fighter Form” and that will switch the camera to third-person while unlocking your fighter’s full move set. This includes stronger melee attacks, the ability to block hits, bonus speed, extra damage resistance, and a new Tactical/Ultimate attack. In the final round of a match, everyone will be given infinite Fight Gauge to engage Fighter Form at will. Downed/respawning players are also thrown straight back into the arena to battle, which is sure to result in furious final showdowns.

Last Word on Apex Legends Vs Street Fighter Event

Apex Legends has remained a popular battle royale shooter for seven years now thanks to events and crossovers such as thisĀ Street Fighter collaboration. The game may not have reached the same heights asĀ Fortnite or evenĀ PUBG Battlegrounds 10s of millions of players in its prime, but has maintained because of its unique gameplay feel and more focused design. I’m not sure how I ultimately feel about bringingĀ Street Fighter characters into the mix, but in a world whereĀ Fortnite has almost everything imaginable in it, developers and publishers are going to have to pull out all the stops to compete. What will be interesting to see is howĀ Apex’s take onĀ Street Fighter compares to whatĀ Fornite has already offered, which is merely six characters and associated items instead of a distinct mode and gametype.
