Code Vein 2 has been a reasonably good follow-up to Bandai Namco’s initial outing in the franchise, and it looks like things are about to get a tad more complicated for the Revenant Hunter in the coming months.

A Long List of Changes On The Way
Let’s get the big one out of the way first. The Mask of Idris Expansion takes the Revenant Hunter to a new timeline where the emotions of people from the ones they’ve altered have converged and threaten to wreak havoc on the real world. Of course, this timeline, called The Forsaken World, has an interesting new face for you to meet in Liv Voda, a guardian of timelines whose personality isn’t going to do her any favors according to the expansion’s official synopsis. We’re wondering if the mask in question could have any connection to Progenitor Ibris, whose champion gave us quite the challenge in the base game. As someone with deep ties to the Resurgence, it’s highly likely that the mask is one of his artifacts and could have a role to play in solving the conundrum that’s fallen to the Revenant Hunter. You’ll need to have completed the Luna Fraterna ending in the base game along with the Valentin’s Request side mission to get access to the expansion when it drops, which might be a good enough reason to dive into a new playthrough if that’s still on your to-do list.
Aside from the expansion, there’s also the promise of additional post-game content on the way in the Version 2.0 update, although Bandai Namco has decided to keep things close to the chest as far as details on what to expect are concerned. There isn’t a release date on either the expansion or the new update at the moment, although we expect them to drop together in the near future. Keep an eye on this space as we’ll be sure to tell you more as soon as we learn of it.
