Valheim Chicken Walkthrough
Chickens were added to the game after release, somehow they’re more difficult to work with than some of the game’s bigger and scarier animals but that checks out chickens can be annoying. You can’t actually find and tame chickens in the wild like you would a Lox or Asksvin.
Instead, you have to buy Chicken eggs for 1500 gold apiece. You can buy them from The Merchant so stock up on them anytime you find The Merchant.
Once hatched, you’ll have to pen them in and feed them Beech Seeds or Carrot Seeds until they’re tamed and grown properly. Once they’re grown and become Hens they will lay eggs allowing you to increase your numbers, you will have to make sure you take the eggs and keep them warm in order to hatch as the hens won’t do the work for you.
This can be done by making a campfire and a shelter, preferably place it NEXT to the campfire and not in the flame, or you’ll quickly learn from your mistakes.
