Brotato Generalist Build Tips
Character Type
The Generalist is one of the more interesting builds in the game. It has a dual effect of gaining 2 melee damage points for every 1 ranged damage point, it also gains 1 ranged damage point for ever 2 melee damage points. To counter this, you can only equip 3 ranged and 3 melee weapons at most instead of getting any 6.
The main focus of this build is of course maximising the melee/range buff and working to round out the defense and other stats.
Upgrades
Of course, the main attention of your stats should be on ranged damage, melee damage, and attack speed to make the most of this build’s abilities. You can try to improve range a bit too as it will make use of both the slingshot and cacti club weapons. As the late game approaches turn to improving Max HP where you can and some Life Steal to make sure you can sustain some attacks.
Weapons
The main weapons to use as Slingshots and Cacti Club. Start with the Slingshot to clear the first wave and get 3 of them, then get 3 cacti. The Cacti Club is very useful as it is both a melee hit and spawns some projectiles to deal ranged damage, making use of both of this character’s strengths.
Items
Items that increase ranged/melee damage or the Black Belt which increases XP gain and damage are good to get especially in the early run. As you approach the end try to get the more powerful items like the Bandana, Glass Cannon, Wings, Cyclops Worm etc.
Reward
Winning as the Generalist gets you the Big Arm item which adds +10 to melee damage and +5 to ranged at a slight cost to armor and speed.
