Diplomacy is Not an Option Starter Tips

First Day

To start with you should build lumber mills to generate more wood. Try to build them close to one another so you can focus any defensive efforts on one area if they’re attacked.

After securing the wood production for your future it’s time to think about your food supply. You don’t start with many people to feed so just one fisherman hut or berry picker house will suffice for the early portions of the game. I would go with fisherman hut because it does produce food slower but it doesn’t require a worker to travel from bush to bush to get resources.

Accumulating resource carts will help you gather a variety of resources and scout the nearby area. While doing this wood will be produces by your mills and you could find some in the carts so send some wood to the Advanced Toolkit research in the game’s research tree to reduce building times for future moves.

Stocking up on stone will be the next key move, this will require some combat so be prepared to fight some enemies. The key is to go near the mountains and hope to find stone deposits.

Before the end of day 1 build some houses near your castle, as many as your resource allocation allows, to have new villagers ready to go for day 2.

Day 2

Day 2’s start depends on your luck, if there’s nearby stone deposits to make then make them, if not though you will need to get a third builder to cover for the distance and time taken to make the stone deposit.

From there it’s about rounding out your other stuff. Either get a second food production setup or a third lumber mill, the food is especially important as you bring in new workers as the days go by but don’t ignore the lumber mills.

If you have enough leftover resources you can build a barracks now but it can wait for later if needs be.

Use your gathered stone to research Comfortable Shows to improve movement speed of workers. Then set out to clear the nearby area of enemies and cut down the forests.

By the end of Day 2 with everything cleared, try to make sure you build a Barracks and set up some new houses to have enough newcomers to turn into soldiers.

Day 3 and Beyond

Day 3 is when you can start focusing on combat, collect resources to help upgrade your units, make sure you have a barracks, and try to build some walls/gates/towers depending on your remaining resources to help you fend off the incoming attack.

With this solid foundation of resources and an idea of how to upgrade your village you should be able to keep things moving and get yourself off to a successful start in Diplomacy is Not an Option.
