NBA 2K25 Best Teams to Rebuild List
Chicago Bulls
While they may not be AS hapless in real life, the simulation Bulls are not good at all. Zach LaVine is their star player with an 84 overall, an ageing Vucevic rounds out the main core, while their young pieces all seem to have a hard cap below superstardom.
They’re an interesting rebuild proposition because there’s no player with huge trade value and moving salaries will likely mean taking on some bad players. But, there’s some fun to be had there in figuring out the best way forward, do you give up all the young guys to get a star player to round out a big three or is it time to be patient and trust the youth?
LA Clippers
The Clippers are another disaster waiting to happen in 2K. An older James Harden and Kawhi Leonard don’t appear to be enough to help the team contend. As the GM you have different options here, you can go all in and roll the dice on pairing up Harden and Leonard with a star or you can move on from them and rebuild around a new star player.
Harden and Leonard are big contracts to move but if you can wait it out or find a good trade then you should have the cap space to make some moves in free agency.
San Antonio Spurs
We all know why the Spurs are here let’s not waste time. You get to build around generational talent, number 1 overall draft pick Victor Wembanyama. The goal here should be to kickstart a new Spurs dynasty by building a young core around the transcendent big.
Washington Wizards
The Wizards are an absolute mess. They’re not good, they’re saddled with some really bad contracts, and they don’t have massive draft capital. This rebuild is only for the sadists among us because this is a team that needs to be blown up and restarted from scratch.
With Alex Sarr looking like a potential bust and Bilal Coulibaly’s ceiling being unknown, the young pieces in Washington will either need your complete trust or a new environment to grow.
Detroit Pistons
More of a leisurely one to round things out. The Pistons have been pretty poor for years now but they’re an interesting team in this year’s 2K. Cade Cunningham is continuing his rise to stardom with a supporting cast of Jaden Ivey, veteran Tobias Harris, Ron Holland, and some more veteran depth.
The Pistons afford you some leeway as you can choose to focus on Cade as the star, find a complimenting piece, allow Ivey and Holland to flourish and form a big 3, or you can go insane and throw around money by moving off the veterans. Either way, this is sure to be a fun save to run in NBA 2K25.
