The reviews have been overwhelming positive in general. The Lost Crown is part of the original continuity of the game, before The Sands of Time editions of the games that became popular in the early 2000s as a platformer. The latest release is a 2D side scroller and has been given credit for its smooth and seamless platforming as well as well made combat. The few drawbacks that have been noted have been the puzzle elements and certain aspects of the story that feel as if the element of magic is being too heavily relied on from start to finish.
The range of reviews ranges from the low-mid 70th percentile and goes all the way up to high to mid 90th percentile.
