FM24 Challenges

France – Youth Revolution

Paris Saint-Germain are still the top dogs in French football but this year’s game presents some interesting opportunities. RC Lens and OGC Nice are loaded with young players and have some momentum behind them. The goal here is to make the most of these golden generations to overthrow PSG.

Lens have the benefit of Champions League football in your first season meaning there’s money to be made by competing midweek and extra games to play to develop your stars.

England – Chelsea Project

It’s been a miserable few years for Chelsea and in FM24 they find themselves in an odd position. Loaded up on young talents with an ageing Thiago Silva still a real leader at the back and questions over key positions in the squad you will need to deliver immediately to keep your job.

Can you nurture this Chelsea team through the project and back to the top of English football? That remains to be seen.

Ireland – Shamrock Rovers Do it Again

A few years ago Shamrock Rovers shocked everyone by making it to the group stages of the Europa League. For a team in a lowly competition like the League of Ireland this was a huge success, but, can you go one better?

Either with Shamrock Rovers or any other League of Ireland team, reach the group phase of the Champions League and make history.

Misc. – Fallen Champions

In leagues all around Europe, we’re seeing an unprecedented trend of previously dominant teams get off to poor stars. Former superpowers like Lyon, Basel, and Ajax are currently staring down the barrel of mediocrity. Can you be the one to turn around the fortunes of these fallen powers.

Belgium – Anderlecht Rise Again

We all remember RSC Anderlecht, former Champions League mainstay and home of Romelu Lukaku. After over a decade of pure dominance in the Belgian Pro League, the team haven’t won a title since 2017.

With fierce competition atop the league can you put the trophy in Anderlecht’s hands once again.

Saudi Arabia – No PIF Needed

Saudi Arabia became the talking point of football over the summer when PIF backed and funded major transfers for Al Hilal, Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, and Al Ahli. While those four teams control the money and bring in legendary players your task will be to compete with one of the teams outside of PIF’s control.

Spain/France – Save Coruna/Bordeaux

In Spain, Deportivo La Coruna were once a top team, winning La Liga in the year 2000 and looking likely to become a superpower of Spanish football. Today, they languish in the third tier of Spanish football after missing out on promotion last season.

As for Bordeaux, they are a lower-table side in Ligue 2 and are a farcry from the team that once made some noise in Ligue 1. Can you be the saviour of one of these teams and bring them back to the top division?
