Destiny 2 offers a wide range of PVP activities that test players’ skills in competitive matches. The Hunter class is one of the most popular choices for PVP, thanks to its agility and ability to deal massive damage. In this blog post, we’ll be exploring a PVP solar build for the Hunter class that utilizes the exotic hand cannon Crimson, solar legendary hand cannon Trust, and exotic leg armor Lucky Pants. Combined with radiant solar fragments, resilience mods, and dexterity mods. This build will have you shredding through the Crucible cowboy style.

PVP Solar Hunter Build in Destiny 2

Weapons

First, let’s take a closer look at the weapons that will be the centerpiece of this build. Crimson is an exotic hand cannon that is notable for its high damage output and unique perk, Banned Weapon. This perk allows the weapon to fire in three-round bursts, with each burst providing a chance for health regeneration. This makes Crimson an excellent choice for aggressive playstyles in PVP, allowing you to stay in the fight even after taking damage. Trust is a legendary hand cannon that is known for its high stability and ease of use. It is an excellent choice for mid-range engagements, allowing you to take down enemies quickly and efficiently. With perk rolls like snapshot sights and incandescent, Trust is a devastating hand cannon in the right hands.

Armor

To complement these hand cannons, we’ll be using the exotic leg armor Lucky Pants. This armor’s unique perk, Illegally Modded Holster, grants increased accuracy and handling when swapping to a hand cannon. Since we are using two, the exotic perk will always be active. When you ready a fully loaded hand cannon that deals Kinetic damage or a damage type that matches your subclass energy type (solar), each hit from that hand cannon increases the damage of the next shot for a short time against a combatant. While also providing a small benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of Hand Cannons while the buff is active. Constantly swapping between your two hand cannons will ensure you always have your buff active.

Fragments

Now, let’s talk about the fragments and aspects that will complement this exotic gear. Radiant solar fragments increase the Hunter’s ability recharge rate while standing in solar grenades, making them an excellent choice for players who enjoy using solar-based abilities. Resilience mods increase your Hunter’s resilience, making it easier to absorb damage and stay in the fight. Dexterity mods increase your Hunter’s handling, making it easier to switch between weapons and take down enemies quickly.

All Together Now

When putting together your armor and mod loadout for this build, focus on resilience and dexterity mods. Use Crimson for aggressive playstyles, relying on its Banned Weapon perk to regenerate health while taking down enemies. Maintain the Lucky Pants buff, allowing you to switch between weapons quickly and efficiently with the two hand cannons. Defeating scorched targets will create a Firesprite from Ember of Searing, and Firesprites will grant restoration from Ember of Mercy. With the Ember of Solace fragment, restoration from a healing grenade and a Firesprite has a longer duration as well as the timer of the Radiant buff; and when these buffs are applied to teammates, Ember of Benevolence will increase ability regeneration rate of all abilities

YeeHaw!

In summary, the Hunter class is an excellent choice for players who enjoy aggressive playstyles in PVP. The main gameplay loop of this build is based around Lucky Pants and the two hand cannons. When readying Crimson or Trust, landed shots will apply a damage buff that increases hand cannon damage by 60% per stack, at a max of 10 stacks (600% damage boost) for 5.5 seconds. After that timing window, the buff has a cooldown for 10 seconds while the Out of Luck debuff is active. The Lucky Pants damage buff will stack with the 17% damage buff from two Kinetic Weapon Surge mods and the 25% damage buff from Radiant. When all buffs are stacked together, you will have a 923% damage boost to Crimson.

The subclass rounds out the rest of the build and is utilized during the wind down time of Lucky Pants. The Weighted Throwing Knife will be the primary ability due to it giving the Radiant buff through Ember of Torches, and refunding itself on kill. Gambler’s Dodge is used as a contingency plan if your knife doesn’t land a kill.
