Usually, you would need to find the symbol cipher to find out what each animal symbol means but to keep things moving I’ll run down the 10 symbols and their values:

  • Unicorn – 1
  • Two-horned beast – 2
  • Three-headed Dragon – 3
  • Sassy Owl – 4

  • Multi-headed serpent – 9

How to solve Hogwarts Legacy Door Puzzle

For these puzzles, you will see two equations on the door with a large number in the middle surrounded by a number, an animal symbol, and a question mark. Your aim is to make it so that the three outer values total the number in the middle.

For example, if the number in the middle is 15 and you’re given a 3 and a tentacled monster with the question mark, you have a 3+7 (as the tentacled monster represents a 7) with the question mark being a 5 (five-legged beast) to solve the equation and total 15.

Well, it’s as simple as that. Once you find out what value the animal represents it becomes a question of basic mathematics to figure out what the remaining value is. As far as I know, they don’t get much more difficult throughout the game but I will update this guide or make a new one if necessary!
