Pokemon fans have been anxiously waiting for new content of the new generation nine with Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. On June 1, fans got a treat as a new trailer for Scarlet & Violet released new details, features, innovative ideas, and new Pokemon. There was even a date for the release as Scarlet & Violet will be on November 18, 2022. Many features caught the eyes of fans, but there were things that caught their attention the most. Here are four of the best features the new Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trailer showed.
Four features Showcased in the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer
Bringing the mechanics of Legends but keeping the battling mechanics of traditional games
Pokémon Legends: Arceus brought a fresh new idea to the gameplay of Pokémon, which is sneaking at a Pokémon to create better scenarios for capturing or battling. The trailer depicts the trainer sneaking up on Pokémon, thus indicating that this new concept is returning to Scarlet & Violet. The new trailer also shows the return to a new more simpler battle method. This was something a lot of players wanted to go back to for the non-legends games. Scarlet & Violet looks to be the combination with the best of both games to create a dynamic version of Pokemon coming in November.
More New Pokemon
The trailer showed gamers some new factors that will make Pokemon Scarlet & Violet unique. The trailer also showed five new Pokemon, two of them being the main legendaries. Miraidon looks to be a lizard-looking legendary, which could make it dragon/fighting or dragon/fire. Koraidon appears to represent a jet, which could make it a steel-type Pokemon. With the structure of Koraidon, it could either be a dragon/electric type, as many of the legendaries are dragons, or it could be a dragon/steel dual-type.
Three other Pokemon that took the internet and social media by storm were Pawmi, Lechonk, and Smoliv. Pawmi is an electric mouse, thus continuing the trend of new generation electric mice. Smoliv is a grass/normal-type Pokemon that represents an olive. This will likely be an Oddish/Bellsprout-type Pokemon that could evolve twice. The third and final new Pokemon has taken the internet and social media by storm. Lechonk is a normal-type hog Pokemon that is already a favorite among players are already eager to play the games. If Lechonk is close as an HM user as Biboof, Lechonk will be a star icon in Pokemon.
More Dynamic Differences Between Games
In the past generations, there wasn’t too much of a difference between the dual-games released by Pokemon. In games like Blue & Red, Gold & Silver, and Diamond & Pearl, the only main differences are the version-only games. Ruby & Sapphire took a big difference between each other by having the rivalry of Team Aqua vs. Team Magma. Pokemon has shown to take a bigger step with the two games of Scarlet & Violet as there will be the new legendaries. Not only are there game exclusive Pokemon, Scarlet & Violet will have a different professor. This is something that Pokemon has never done before as the professors are rememberable in the fandom. It will be interesting to see how much of a different personality the professors will have. Pokemon Go has different leaders for three squads, they are unique and beloved in the fandom.
Introducing the 4-op multiplayer
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are going to be games that will not have a defined story mode. Game Freak is making a dramatic change to the systematics of Pokemon yet again. They have always been proud of being one of the first and most innovative interactive series to play with other players. With Scarlet and Violet, trainers can get into a party of four and explore the region and battle together. This is a new innovative idea that pushes the capabilities of how multiplayer is performed in the gaming world of Pokemon. Online play has been a rising trend among gamers as many want to explore new worlds with their friends. With Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, players will be able to have adventures and explore new terrains and Pokemon with their friends.
