Pokemon Unite is set to host its first major competitive event after being independent of World Championship Series. On 23 September 2026, the Pokemon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 competition announced officially.

Slated to bring elite teams around the world together, this is the first major Pokemon Unite tournament since its departure from WCS circuit following 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco.

The open online regional qualifiers for the competition will begin on 5th December 2026. These will lead to an offline final event, set to take place in Tokyo on March 20-21, 2027.

A total of 31 teams will qualify for the Tokyo event after winning their regionals. They will meet ZETA, who will round up the team count to 32.

Pokemon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 Details

All 32 competitors will vie for a massive total prize pool of $1 million USD. It makes the Pokemon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 the largest ever event in Pokemon Unite and in single Pokemon competition history (in terms of the prize pool).

As per Pokemon.com, all qualifying teams will receive the travel awards. In addition to the total cash prize, participants can also receive supplementary rewards. To make the competition interesting, Pokemon Unite will set All-Star Draft in place for the late-stage regional qualifiers and in the offline finals.

Fans will not miss out on any action-packed match. All the games from the final day of each regional qualifier to offline finals will be showcased live on official Pokemon Unite channels. As of now, the exact dates for regional qualifiers and details of participating countries haven’t been revealed yet. In the coming days, the organizers will post these details on their official social media.

It was certainly a bittersweet feeling in the Pokemon Unite community saw Zeta Division take the crown in Pokemon Unite World Championship 2026. Many fans believed that 2026 Pokemon Unite World Championship was the last ever competitive tournament of the game, but they were mistaken.

The Pokemon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 marks a new beginning, shifting to a completely different circuit outside of the official WCS format. The format is certainly more promising. And the fans are expecting Pokemon Unite to carry on this competition annually.
