Marvel Rivals has a thriving community despite nearing two years in the gaming market since its release. Members of the community are active on social media, criticizing things and providing feedback on the issues that need to be addressed. Since the developers have always kept community feedback first, the players are not afraid to demand what they want. Amidst all the chaos, players who main the Duelist Storm have grown discontent with the game’s cosmetic lineup. With all the Legendary skins going to Luna, Magik, Invisible Woman, and Psylocke, Storm players have been left wanting more. But now, the wait is over!
Storm Receives Emergency Legendary Skin in Marvel Rivals
The mutant weather goddess received her last store skin as a Legendary skin in March 2025, which was the “Goddess of Thunder” skin. Since then, she has received no store skins, and the ones she received have been of Epic rarity. So, when the second summer event was rolling around, Storm mains felt a rush of hope, believing her summer costume might be legendary. To their surprise, it wasn’t.
Fuming, the community bashed NetEase because this made Storm, an omega-level mutant, the only female hero on the roster to not have a Legendary summer costume. After hours of online bashing and criticism, NetEase finally took note and started working on the issue. They have announced an emergency update for those who are looking to buy Storm’s “Sacred Skies” swimsuit costume, and it goes as follows:
- We will be upgrading the Sacred Skies swimsuit costume to Legendary for free in the near future. This upgrade will include an all-new lobby animation and an updated MVP animation. The costume will still be sold at the current price of $16.
- Players who purchase the costume will receive a free Ultimate effect upgrade.
- We want to ensure the community that there will be more Storm Legendary tier Costumes coming, so please keep your eyes on the skies over the rest of the year.
One thing to note here is that NetEase accepts feedback and healthy criticism from the active community members. However, employees, including the developers and moderators, were also allegedly “harassed” online before they decided to address the Sacred Skies costume issue. This is a behavior that the community members should responsibly avoid in future clashes to maintain a healthy environment for all.
