New Official Elden Ring Project Set for July 2027 Release

frostbite July 7, 2026

Elden Ring fans have another date circled on the calendar today and while it’s not a new video game, it is definitely an exciting development to get excited about. In 2024, fans have had Shadow of the Erdtree as well as Nightreign to fill out the Lands Between. But there’s something else in the works coming from a completely different area.

Here is what has been confirmed.

Elden Ring: Rot and Sorcery tabletop expansion confirmed for July 2027

The project is Elden Ring: Rot and Sorcery, an expansion to the officially licensed Elden Ring tabletop board game. The Gamefound page for the expansion was recently updated with a confirmed launch window of July 2027.

To be clear, this is not the Alex Garland directed Elden Ring film currently in development at A24, and it is not a new FromSoftware video game. What it is, however, is a substantial expansion that brings two entirely new standalone experiences to the tabletop format: Machinations of the Witch and Dominion of Rot.

What Elden Ring: Rot and Sorcery includes for players

Rot and Sorcery can be played solo or co-op up to four players, with the board in each region assembled with map pieces you place down as you move about the map. Your path is to complete quests to gain strength enough to challenge the bosses that stand before you; if you’ve ever dabbled in video games, the concept should sound instantly recognizable.

Like its original game, there are no restrictions imposed upon players on what they should or shouldn’t do. Explore freely! Seek optional quests and collectibles far beyond what’s needed for the campaign. The ability to farm or prepare before engaging challenging battles is an intentional aspect of the experience.

Radahn and Rennala confirmed as boss encounters

Two of the confirmed bosses are Radahn and Rennala, both among the more demanding fights in the original game. Translating that difficulty into tabletop form is an interesting challenge, and for fans who have already fought through both encounters in the video game, facing them on a board with a completely different ruleset should be a fresh experience worth sitting down for.
