We’re still processing that trailer for The Blood of Dawnwalker that we saw at the 2026 edition of the Summer Game Fest. It isn’t everyday you see a vampire casually ordering a few blood bags via DoorDash after all. But what does that imply for Coen, the vampire-human hybrid we’re set to take control of, and Vale Sangora, the stage for his adventure?

That’s good enough reason to assume that Coen’s story continues beyond the one we’re about to take on this September. Of course, there’s every reason to believe that the mysterious figure that arrives to fight him in the present day is Brencis, and that he isn’t too happy about how things have gone down in Vale Sangora in the first game. But could what the developers have said about the saga moving to different continents be a red herring? Could the two vampires find themselves locked in a battle that doesn’t let something as trivial as the passage of time hinder what’s shaping up to be a confrontation for the ages?
We know that Rebel Wolves like their architecture, but it would certainly be nice to see the studio broaden its horizons in future titles. Whether that includes Vale Sangora as it transitions into the modern age, or entirely new places that allow for more creative liberties, we’re quite sure that Coen’s going to have his hands full as he attempts to balance out his human and vampiric sides. For our part, we’re just glad that none of the stories in this budding franchise have any of those annoying cliffhangers that seem to be a fixture in modern gaming (we’re looking at you, Forbidden West).
The Blood of Dawnwalker isn’t too far away now, as it releases on September 3, 20206, for the PC, PS5, and XBOX Series X|S.
