Lightyear Frontier Outpost Construct Walkthrough

After making contact with Ulf or Diane, the new neighbours from the update, you’ll unlock the blueprint to build a Lunar Lander outpost.

Building one requires the following materials:

  • 4 Aluminum Frames which can be made using an Assembler by feeding in Aluminum Rods (Pine Heights)
  • 2 Aluminum Electronics which are also made using an Assembler but requires both Aluminum rods and Copper Wire (made from copper wire

Once you’ve build an outpost you can place it, though it requires a lot of space, and assign it to one of the two neighbours to allow them to visit your home.

Making Contact with Ulf or Diane

As I mentioned earlier, you unlock the blueprint AFTER making contact with Ulf or Diane but you have to complete some unspoken objectives first.

To make Ulf contact you all you have to do is collect one piece of Copper Ore which can be pretty easily found if you’re on the Edge Cliffs. The next day, you should hear from Ulf.

For Diane to make contact you have to find an abandoned egg by exploring some of the restored regions (just not the Meadows/Pine Heights/Edge Cliffs) and you will immediately be contacted by Diane who gives you a blueprint to help you hatch the eggs.

Once you’ve made contact you have to make an Outpost Construct for both of them to allow for regular visits. Each neighbour will also come with their own questlines after the initial introduction but that can’t happen without a Lunar Lander.
