Aska Iron Guide

Published on:

This Aska Iron guide will detail how to find iron in the early access title which mixes survival gameplay with colony/base building. Collecting resources is one of the most basic mechanics found in this game but it is one of the tougher elements as well. Aska is still in early access but has been met with a very bright reception from those on Steam who have played it.

Aska Iron Tips

Iron is one of the many resources found in Aska, the game isn’t settled as each seeding offers a different map. That means there’s no one set place for me to recommend when it comes to finding this resource, I can only explain where to find it in a general sense since each world is different.

The best way is to find a cave, each seeding is guaranteed to have at least three caves but they can be very difficult to find. There’s no rhyme or reason to the locations of the caves although some players have theorised that the entrances likely form a massive triangle and are more connected than you’d think.

Caves aren’t endless and can be depleted entirely with an estimate of around 200 iron being available before it runs out. This means you’ll need to make use of the other ways the game lets you collect iron.

One way is by killing skeletons and using a hammer to break down the bones. They are easily killed enemies so grinding out some iron by killing skeletons is possible but will also prove to be very costly time wise.

Beating bosses guarantees some iron with each boss dropping a couple of pieces and respawning every in-game year. This is a tougher but more certain way to get additional iron if needed.

The final way is by killing Draugr. These are tougher to kill than skeletons and require a mining pick to harvest from their dead bodies. They’re easier to find in packs than the Skeletons but have a lower chance of dropping any iron.

So, the primary way to get Iron in Aska is to find the caves but this can be a real trek in itself and the caves can run dry. Killing enemies is an endless way to get Iron and will become your solution long-term once the well runs dry in the caves.
