FM26 New CM Wonderkids Guide (Winter Update)

This FM26 new CM wonderkids guide will look at the post-January update that changes the database for good. Commonly known as the winter update, this adds January transfers to the game and changes the ratings and potential of many players. In this, I will be focusing on the central midfielders (but not CAMs) who have emerged in update 26.2 for you to sign. Football Manager 2026 has been the most controversial entry to the series in some time with Steam having it on mostly negative reviews, with newer reviews staying mixed.

FM26 New CM Wonderkids List – Best Young Centre Mids in Winter Update

Marco Company

Real Madrid have featured on almost every edition of this list with their young talents receiving quite the boost to their potential. Marco Company is the biggest riser in the central midfield spot at just 16. His potential is now on par with the likes of Senny Mayulu, Kobbie Mainoo, and Kees Smit in-game.

Eiji Kubo

Another big change for Update 26.2 has been a wider recognition for the talent residing in Japan. Eiji Kubo has been given a boost into the upper echilons of midfield talent. The Osaka player is a step below Marco Company but would still make a great addition to most top sides if he can hit his ceiling.

Thomas Jorgensen

At 19, Thomas Jorgensen has broke out and become one of the better wonderkid CM options for teams in the top five European leagues. He may never be world class in FM26, but he will be a great talent, on par with some of the prospects from top clubs around Europe.

Nico Guillen

It has been another season to forget for Sevilla but they can be comfortable knowing they have a future prospect blossoming in their academy system. Playing regularly in the Seville Atletico side in the lower divisions, he has been boosted in the winter update to be a strong CM option to sign for long-term development.

Mikel Amondarian

Argentina continues to produce talent with Estudiantes midfielder Mikel Amondarian becoming a great midfield option in 26.2. His potential isn’t at the world-class level but for a club in any top league, he will be a solid option to have in the squad. Being Argentine and playing locally means he could come in for a bargain price too.
