This FM26 new wonderkid left backs guide will look at the post-January update that changes the database for good. Commonly known as the winter update, this adds January transfers to the game and changes the ratings and potential of many players. In this, I will be focusing on the full backs who have emerged in update 26.2 for you to sign. Football Manager 2026 has been the most controversial entry to the series in some time with Steam having it on mostly negative reviews, with newer reviews staying mixed.

FM26 New Wonderkid Left Backs List – Best Young LBs in Winter Update
Jose Neto
The full back spots were a little light in the original wonderkid lists, but that’s been solved this time around with some new cavalry coming in. The standout of them is Jose Neto of Benfica who instantly jumps in alongside names like Harry Amass and El Hadji Malick Diouf on the potential charts. He belongs to one of the teams that is known for developing young talents which helps him edge out some of the competition.
Matteo Perez Vinlof
One thing I’ve noticed in my scouting so far is Dinamo are well liked in update 26.2, they have other young talents who have emerged with Matteo Perez standing out as one of the better left-back prospects in FM26. He bet on himself last summer, moving from Bayern to Zagreb and has been rewarded with consistent playing time, even getting to play in the Europa League as he put himself on the map of many scouts.
Davide Bartesaghi
We head now to AC Milan for one of Europe’s breakout left-back options. Davide Bartesaghi has broken into the first team for the senior squad, playing regular Serie A minutes as his side rebounds from a disastrous 2024/25. This has allowed him to put himself on the map as one to watch.
Stefano Di Mario
We stay in Italy for the latest entry on our list of the best FM26 new wonderkid left backs for Stefano Di Mario. Playing in Serie B for Entella, he is a left-sided player who operates more as a wing-back or left-winger than a traditional left-back but he can play the position and play it well regardless. He has been a regular for his side all season in the second division which has seen him force his way into wonderkid talks following the winter update.
Arsene Kouassi
Just sneaking in here because the game’s DB starts when he was still 21, Kouassi is a top-rated prospect from Lorient. Ligue 1 clubs are known for their talent discovery and development with the full-back being picked up from Ajaccio in the summer and becoming a regular for Lorient in the top division in this campaign.
