This FM26 Wonderkid XI guide will take a slightly different approach. Instead of just focusing on the best young players and their potential, this will have a slightly more win-now focus with an attempt to juggle potential with a higher CA that can compete right now and survive in top leagues. FM26 has released on all platforms with Steam reviews currently being mostly negative among the player base.

FM26 Wonderkid XI Walkthrough
Goalkeeper – Guillaume Restes/Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro
There is little to split these two shot-stoppers other than developmental luck. They start off with similar CA abilities, two of the best for the wonderkid group of shot-stoppers in the game. Rome-Jayden is currently the better looking player with his better aerial presence and slightly better passing. Either one should be able to play as your season 1 shot-stopper and grow from there.
Long Term Alternatives: Tommaso Martinelli, Julian Eyestone
Left Back – Alejandro Balde/Myles Lewis-Skelly
It is almost hard to believe Alejandro Balde is still a wonderkid but the Barcelona full-back is still a great pickup in-game for your team. He has a new contender for best option at LB in Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly who is a little bit worse to start but usually becomes just as good, if not better, than Balde.
Long Term Alternatives: Saba Kharebashvili, Honest Ahanor
Centre Back – Renato Veiga, Pau Cubarsi
Former Chelsea man and capable left-back Renato Veiga makes his way on here as one of the best left-footed CB prospects in the game. With most successful tactics requiring an LCB in build-up, he can be crucial to your success.
Pau Cubarsi is one of Barcelona’s crown jewels, an excellent passer with decent speed, he is capable of playing the modern CB role with ease. This combo provides both a right-footer and a left-footer in build-up.
Long-term Options: Rav van den Berg, Yarek Gasiorowski
Right Back – Michael Kayode
The RB spot is a bit of a weak one for wonderkids according to this game with Brentford’s Michael Kayode being the best natural one available. He is fairly good and can become great but is a step down from the other names in the eleven.
Long Term Option: Martim Fernandes
