Metal Bringer Steam Deck Performance Analysis
Metal Bringer doesn’t run into an issue when starting up from the Deck. Some games are a nightmare to launch but Metal Bringer launches just fine. It then plays consistently without crashing, which is another possible issue for poorly optimised games on the portable console.
The visual side is where this game can suffer. When there’s too much happening on screen it can have pretty nasty frame rate drops, this is especially true if you set the graphical settings too high.
Thankfully, Metal Bringer is quite customisable and if you set the graphical settings lower, you’re more likely to lock the game into a consistent frame rate, particularly if it is capped at 30/40 fps.
You can also adjust other settings to help the battery life. The title, even on some more conservative settings, runs decently well on the Steam Deck and looks good so don’t be afraid to tinker with the settings to get the least demanding performance for your Steam Deck.
All in all, Metal Bringer is a solid option for Steam Deck users, no crashes or startup problems is already a good sign but the graphical settings being so flexible means you can adjust the title to get a consistent experience.
