Rivals of Aether 2 Characters Walkthrough
Clairen
Clairen is one of the more ordinary characters to choose from, relying on a sword to do damage with it’s elongated hitbox. Clairen can also generate a forcefield meaning it’s easy to keep enemies at arms length.
It’s not a character that can swing for the fences and any wayward sword attacks can leave you prone, which isn’t ideal as Clairen’s recovery skills aren’t good.
Elemental Powers can tip the scales with one allowing you to stun enemies, one being a deadly swiping dash that can damage enemies with plasma residue, while the energy field can push away and damage enemies.
Fleet
Fleet is a ranged character with one of the best side specials of everyone. Her issue is the lack of high-end moves that can cause KO’s and a lightweight feeling to her movement that can make her easy to KO.
Kragg
Kragg is a real bruiser, a slow, heavy-hitting unit. It’s main strength is of course the ability to dole damage and kill with ease but this comes with a raft of weaknesses like low mobility and laggy attack movements.
Kragg’s main elemental powers revolve around the earth like turning into a rock and rolling at enemies, being able to pick up and toss rocks, and summoning an earth pillar beneath him.
Kragg will suit some players, those who like to bludgeon their opponents as opposed to picking them off but you will have to work around slower speeds and a susceptibility to mid-range opposition.
Loxodont
Lox is another bruiser with an exploitable recovery. He moves a lot better than the other bruisers but falls short of the opposition due to being another generic bruiser in a game of more versatile characters.
Orcane
Orcane moves quickly on the ground, being somewhat similar to Zetteburn in terms of movement animation speeds. It goes beyond just a water-based character and focuses in on bubbles and various elemental powers related to that.
It suffers from a lack of ranged attacks and has a special that can be parried, leaving it open for a devastating counter.
Ranno
Ranno’s key selling point is Poison-based elemental powers. The Toxic Trap move can be lethal as it places the opponent within a toxic bubble and allows Ranno to hit combos. The versatility of the Poison Spin is also useful.
Ranno doesn’t have any exceptional movement speeds, making it one of the slower characters in the game. In addition, he’s lightweight and can be combo’d with ease.
Maypul
Maypul is a speedster, it can move quickly on the ground and in the air. It has quick attacks that can take advantage of mistakes the opponent makes. It’s elemental powers are largely based around plants, one can mark opponents with seeds, marked opponents can be wrapped up and become prone to attacks, with the last allowing Maypul to be slingshot towards enemies using vines.
The drawback is that Maypul is a lightweight who can be KO’d if caught out b a strong enemy.
Wrastor
Wrastor has fast aerial animations and to win with this character you’ll need to master the air. If caught in the wrong situation, Wrastor is very lightweight and easy to beat and has some moves that leave it open to counters.
Wrastor’s elemental abilities are all based around aerial prowess, one lets it jump four times, a wind current that can make Wrastor move faster, and one that allows a charged strong attack to be performed from the air.
Zetterburn
Zetterburn is an easy to manage character with quick movement speed on the ground. Zetterburn has fire-based elemental abilities including a chance to burn enemies and deal lasting damage, it can place flames on the battle stage which can hurt enemies, there’s also a fire boost which can launch burning enemies.
Zetterburn’s big problem is a slow recovery speed as well as a lack of ranged attacks. Zetterburn can be taken advantage of by long-ranged characters so you’ll have to work around these weaknesses.
