Most Successful eSports Teams of 2023 So Far

Published on:

eSports continues to grow its reach across the world with more and more leagues popping up. In this article I will be taking a look at some of the most successful eSports teams of 2023 with a handful of major tournaments already behind us.

eSports is so big that you can event bet on it at most reputable websites, although some reputable books like gamblingguy don’t take eSports bets and prefer to keep it classical.

Atlanta FaZe

It comes as no surprise that Call of Duty is one of the biggest titles in the eSports world. The game’s free-for-all strategy based gameplay makes it perfect for team-based competition as squads do battle to prove who is the best.

Atlanta FaZe have been making their mark in the COD world so far this season as they are at the top of the standings in the CDL with a win percentage of 59.5% in league play.

The Georgia based team is one of the premier teams in the world of COD eSports with four stage titles to their name and one major championship victory in 2021. After forming in 2019 they have pretty quickly put together a roster to rival the best of the best in their eSports genre.

New York Subliners

The Subliners are fighting neck and neck with the Atlanta FaZe in the Call of Duty sphere. The team also has a win percentage of 59.5% but tailes the FaZe by 30 points. Nevertheless, they deserve credit for such strong play in one of the most competitive leagues in all of eSports.

Also founded in 2019 this team took a while to find its groove but 2023 has been its most successful year to date in the Call of Duty league. After initially stocking up on veterans of the scene the team has made moves to acquire more dynamic players, to much success as they have put their initial underperformance behind them and look to kick on for the rest of this year.

Team SoloMid

Leaving behind the world of eSports we have a major tournament winner from the world of Apex Legends. This team outlasted 40 of the best Apex Legends teams from around the world in gruelling round-robin style play. In the final round-robin stage they outlasted 20 other finalists to top the table and take home the win after a stellar 10-kill game in round 8.

As one of the oldest eSports teams going, they formed in 2009, the California outfit compete ina variety of leagues including games like Player Unknown Battlegrounds, Apex Legends, League of Legends, Minecraft, DOTA 2, and more.

With so many different divisions to compete in it is no surprise that SoloMid are one of the top eSports teams of 2023 so far, although their success has primarily come with Apex Legends.

eSports is a growing industry that is only going to get more competitive over time. These are the teams who have defined 2023 so far, largely in the area of action games. By the end of 2023 will any of these teams be knocked off their perch?
