Crafting batteries involves getting far enough to get the recipe for something known as the Electric Press. This creation will allow you to craft batteries. After the mission involving building an elevator, go and speak to Harold.
Then continue until the fish visits your house, then you’ll have to look by the spinner for a glowing recipe for the Electric Press. This will allow you to build it near the furnace to begin crafting batteries of your own. The main steps are Harold after the Elevator and Sir the fish visiting to fully unlock the Electric Press for building.
