This Aloft fix ecosystem guide will focus on how to make the Unhealthy Ecosystems normal again by completing each of the measurements provided. This game has a lot of mechanics to juggle so I’ll help cut some of your time scratching your head with this one. Aloft is a new Early Access title on Steam that has shot up the charts in its limited release time.

Aloft Fix Ecosystem Walkthrough
Fixing an Ecosystem requires completing the six sections available:
- Tree Amount
- Flora Diversity
- Decomposer Amount
- Animal Amount
- Insect Diversity
- Objectives
Tree Amount
This is as expected, a requirement to replenish the number of healthy trees in a region. This involves cutting down sick trees and planting new ones. Trees are fairly easy as they can grow in any biome so it’s probably the easiest step in fixing an Ecosystem.
Flora Diversity
This requires placing a different range of plants within the ecosystem. The hard part being it has to be different plant types, so you can’t just plant 10 of the same one and pass, it has to be different types.
Flora Seeds tend to be biome specific too so you’ll likely have to cut down plants throughout the biome to get enough wild seeds to place down a diverse range of flora.
Decomposer Amount
Decomposers are things like Reishi Mushrooms, you have to make these grow at the base of trees which requires collecting some, processing through a Millstone, and making Reishi Inoculant. This Inoculant is then spread at the base of trees to grow more.
Animal Amount
You have to manually transport animals by using a ship to complete this metric. This can be tedious as you’ll either need to go from your home island or another one, find a place to dock on the unhealthy island, and transport the animals manually. You CAN build a bird house and cheese this a little but you have to learn that recipe first.
Insect Diversity
Insects are easy to move as you can collect them and keep them in your inventory to spread to a new ecosystem.
Other Objectives
An unhealthy island will have other problems stopping it from being fixed. This could be something like undemolished corruptors or sick trees that haven’t been cut down yet.
