Casual Gamer: Hitman 3 Review

Published on:

I have always been a fan of the IO Interactive Hitman series. It took me just over a week to jump into the latest rendition of the game, Hitman 3 and needless to say I am hooked. So once again, I am here at Last Word on Gaming with, Casual Gamer: Hitman 3 review.

First and foremost, I will say the visuals are amazing. However, if you are like me and own an OG Xbox One, then there are a few little stutters in the graphics. It wasn’t uber frustrating, but it was noticeable at times.

Hitman 3 Review

On the initial playthrough (and no I am nowhere close to finishing the game), it feels very similar to previous iterations of the Hitman series, but the graphics have been definitely upgraded, to say the least. The opening sequence is a complete thing of beauty.

First Mission – Dubai (On Top Of The World)

Now this is where the casual gamer in me really comes out. It took me a dozen attempts at the level and a few videos later to complete, what some speedrunners finished in an outstanding 8-seconds.

The mission has you in an office building in Dubai. When seeing what the objectives are at hand, it seems fairly simple — eliminate Marcus Stuyvesant and Carl Ingram. Again, it took me far too many times to finish this, as I was either killed myself or plain old busted by the security guards.

How many times did it take you to get through the first mission?

Second Mission – Dartmoor (Death In The Family)

A complete disclaimer, this is the mission I am currently trying to complete.

After reading a ton about the game and playing through some of it, many have staked claim that this second mission is the best in the game. It is based in Dartmoor, England and you are trying to asssassinate a target in something straight out of an Agatha Christie novel. If you loved the movie Knives Out, then this is for sure the mission for you. The intricacy of the entire feeling of the level is extraordinary.

I have yet to finish it, but am excited about feeling my way through Carlisle manor.

Final thoughts

I am really enjoying most aspects of the game. But as a casual gamer I get frustrated by how difficult some aspects of it are. However, who has two thumbs and is a fan of Hitman 3? This guy. It is quite fun.

Initial Review Score
